“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” - Philippians 4:6
Father, my Savior & my God,
This morning I come before you and give thanks for my sweet Man. I believe you chose him just for me; and me just for him. When I accepted his proposal on December 16, 2006, we immediately became a team. And we quickly learned that only You knew our game plan.
After three years of flying between Nashville and Dallas, I made the move to Texas. Only upon arrival, you presented us with an opportunity to move right back home. We spent an anxious week praying and contemplating what to do. In one hand, Chris had this great job opportunity to consider and in the other hand he had a good home and community in Dallas. He loved his church and he really loved his public announcing opportunities at Texas Christian University. Those two items of comfort created an anxious decision making process for us.
But, you faithfully interceded on our behalf. “By prayer and petition” we knew that You were leading us back home and “with thanksgiving” we followed You there. We’ve been home now for fifteen months and, with much excitement, I have watched you move in Chris’s life and within our marriage.
For fifteen months I have “presented my requests” to you: (1) Please lead us to a church home where we can learn more about you and serve your community; and (2) Please open doors of opportunity for Chris to continue his love of sports announcing.
We continue to faithfully seek out a church home, and I am certain that you will guide us there. But this week, you answered my prayer!
Today, I thank you for guiding Chris to Vanderbilt University’s athletic program. Tonight, the Commodore’s football season begins and my man is prime and ready for some sports announcing! In the winter, he’ll move across the street to the Lady Commodore’s basketball games. I can’t wait to hear his voice!
Thank you Lord. You are faithful, indeed!
GO COMMODORES! (Except when you play the University of Tennessee! Then, it’s GO VOLS!!)
Please visit Thankful Thursday and together let us celebrate all the
things we should give thanks for!
